There
really is life after death, an eternal, glorious life for those who love
God.
But
as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered
into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that
love him"
1
Corinthians 2:9 KJV
Jesus Christ,
God in the flesh, took the punishment we deserved for our sins. The King
James version declares the following glorious statement.
But
he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are
healed.
He proved Himself
victorious over death by rising from the grave three days later. The LORD
died on Wednesday the High Holy Sabbath day of that year's Passover and
was buried for three days, thursday, Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, exactly
three days later, He rose for the first time on the feast of First Fruits.
Thousands witnessed
Him alive, over a period of 40 days. Then He ascended to heaven.
On the fiftieth
day on the celebration of Feast of Weeks, or when translated into Greek,
Pentecost, He baptized His believers, the church with the POWER of the
HOLY SPIRIT. They were already born again when they received the Holy Spirit
on the first sunday when the LORD resurrected.
WHEN CHANGE
DOES NOT COME
FROM THE DENOMINATIONS
REVOLUTION
RISES FROM THE BOTTOM
JESUS APPEARS TO THE DISCIPLES
BEHIND CLOSED DOORS
Then
the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors
were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came
Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
And when
he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the
disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.
Then said
Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even
so send I you.
And when
he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye
the Holy Ghost:
whose soever
sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain,
they are retained.
John
20: 19-23 KJV
According to Romans
4:24-25, "God" raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; who was delivered
for our offenses, and was raised again for our justification.”
Then it is
no surprise to many people, that as many as 18 percent of those brought
back to life after a heart attack, have shared that they have had near-death
experiences.
To others,
the idea that the human consciousness and the body can exist distinctly
from each other seems unscientific. However, if there is no existence beyond
the grave, then millions of people throughout history, from the Pharaohs
of Egypt to Jesus of Nazareth, have been deluded.
Because there
is no way that your death can't be avoided by exercise and diet, meditation,
pills, surgery, the next genetic discovery, or anything, many are uncertain
and fearful about their eternal destination.
Some people
speculate that, because they haven't murdered anyone or robbed banks, they
are already good enough for heaven. This type of thinking is so far from
the truth. It is actually a lie from the very pit of hell.
Amongst those
teaching this lie is the Watchtower Society in Brooklyn New York, best
known by you and me as the Jehovah's Witnesses.
Actually they
are really not Witnesses of Jehovah but of satan the devil himself since
they are constantly denying Jesus Christ as LORD and SAVIOR. Their own
hearts are deceiving them.
According to
the Bible, the human heart is the most deceitful thing there is.
Jeremiah 17:9
says. . The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked:
who can know it?
The sin problem
must be dealt with. Romans 2:23 says that the entire human race has sinned
and fails to measure up to God's standards. Read it for yourself. . . .
.
You
are so proud of knowing the law, but you dishonor God by breaking it. No
wonder the Scriptures say, The world blasphemes the name of God because
of you.
Romans
2:23-24 NLT
Everyone has turned
away from God and done what they wanted to do say Isaiah
53:6.
All
we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way;
and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Again, there isn't
anyone who hasn't sinned says Ecclesiastes 7:20.
For
there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.
The resurrection
of the LORD Jesus, a well-documented event, is the supreme proof of life
after death.
Just as Jesus’
body was raised from death, many live in the hope that their bodies will
also be transformed when Jesus returns.
And
God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own
power.
1
Corinthians 6:14 KJV
NOT EVERYONE
GOES TO HEAVEN
However, everyone
doesn't automatically go to heaven. Each of us must make a choice that
will determine our eternal destination.
The Bible says
that we die only once, and after that will come the judgment. It is as
simple as that.
Hebrews
9:27 says it clearly. . .
And
as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
I didn't make
this up, but the LORD Himself declared that there is an eternal destination
in hell for those who reject Him as Savior.
"And
these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into
life eternal"
Matthew
25:46 KJV
God doesn't enjoy
it when anyone dies in his sin, but wants them to turn around and start
living for Him Ezekiel 33:11 KJV
Life after
death is eternal life in heaven with God, for believers. Life after death
is eternity in the lake of fire, for unbelievers (Revelation 20:11-15).
How can we
receive eternal life after death and avoid an eternity in the lake of fire?
Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he
cannot see the kingdom of God.”
John
3:3 NKJV
We must obey the
gospel, which states, “For I delivered to you first of all that which I
also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according
to the Scriptures….”
1
Corinthians 15:3 NKJV
We are born again
when we participate in Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection.
