Good
Friday
On
Wednesday And Not Friday?
"And the Lord
spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, This month shall
be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the
year to you."
Exodus
12: 1-2 KJV
EDMUND DESOTO
When I first came
to Messiah, I had been tossed around in cults, denominational false doctrines
of Hebrew text and Greek Scriptures for so long, I was ready to give up.
And so I embarked into deep study of my God given heritage, Torah.
So after many
years of studying Hebrew text and greek the Scriptures, this is what the
Lord has revealed to me in reference to
"THE LAST SUPPER" of our
LORD with His disciples which is really nothing more than a Passover celebration.
For the LORD
gave His life on Passover as the Lamb of God that taketh away the sins
of the world on a Wednesday and not on Friday.
The next day
John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which
taketh away the sin of the world.
John
1:29 KJV
So here is my
discernment and revelation of Passover, the Death and resurrection of our
beloved Messiah.
He Is The
Passover Lamb
"Purge
out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened.
For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:"
1
Corinthians 5:7 KJV
Two Sabbaths
The Passover
Lamb was ordained to die in due time and Israel was given very specific
instructions:
"Speak ye unto
all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this
month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the
house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:
and if the
household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next unto
his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according
to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.
Your lamb shall
be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from
the sheep, or from the goats:
and ye
shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and
the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening."
Exodus
12:3-6 KJV
Yeshua, (Jesus)
entered Jerusalem on Sunday, on what we call today "PALM SUNDAY." This
particular Sunday was the tenth day of the month of the Passover season
when every man would take a lamb for the feast according to Exodus
12: 3-6 KJV.
Exodus 12:
1-2 Explains it. . .
"And the
Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, This month
shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month
of the year to you."
Please remember
that we are looking at the tenth day and the fourteenth
day.
So Hashem said:
Take the
lamb on the tenth day (In the tenth day of this month) and set it
aside until the fourteenth day and shall kill it in the evening.
THE REVELATION
It is of no
coincidence that the time from the first Adam (the name Adam literally
means dirt) to the second Adam, the Lamb of God, was four thousand years
of preparation.
That's four
days according to 2 Peter 3:8 KJV
"But, beloved,
be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand
years, and a thousand years as one day."
Not only was
the LORD Jesus set aside four thousand years, He walked into Jerusalem
in fulfillment of Exodus 12:3-6
on the tenth day and was crucified on the fourteenth day.
Yes, Jesus
walked into Jerusalem on the tenth day of the first month, arriving
on what we call today Palm Sunday.
As He entered
the city the throngs of people cried out...
"Hosanna!
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD.
King of
kings."
Following His
triumphant entry into Jerusalem, or on Palm Sunday,
One Day
Passed - Sunday
Two days
Passed - Monday
Three Days
Passed - Tuesday
On the fourth
day or the fourteenth day of the month which had to be Wednesday, NOT
FRIDAY as some people think, He went to the cross. So He did not die
on Friday, He died on Wednesday, on the High Sabbath of the Passover celebration.
This is supported
by His feasts, because every Jewish Passover season observes two Sabbaths.
One on Wednesday which is considered High Sabbath, the second is Saturday
which is considered the regular Sabbath.
THE PASSOVER
FESTIVAL
In the Hebrew
calendar, the Passover festival came on the fourteenth day of the first
month of their year called Abib according to Deuteronomy 16, but Nisan
after the exile, according to Nehemiah 2.
On this special
holiday, the Jews would eat a special meal similar to the one their ancestors
ate as they prepared to flee Egypt.
This included
a lamb, for the people had eaten lamb and used the lamb's blood on their
door posts as Moses had instructed them and certain herbs.
The one thing
that was not done was to apply the blood of the lamb on the door posts,
for that was a specific instruction for those being set FREE from the bondage
of Egypt.
Now, the High
Sabbath was (and still is) observed on the day we call Wednesday.
The regular
Sabbath was (and still is ) observed on the day we call Saturday.
Again, Yeshua
(Jesus) died on the High Sabbath and resurrected on the regular Sabbath.
Remember, He entered Jerusalem on Sunday, or the first day of the week.
He was in Jerusalem four days before He was crucified.
That was on
Wednesday, on the High Sabbath of Passover, which was also
the fourteenth
day of the first month on our Jewish calendar.
Exodus
12: 3-6 KJV
Now as we approach
the Passover season, our family celebrates the regular Passover as we have
our communion with the LORD partaking of the Matzo and the wine accordingly.
As I travel
and celebrate the resurrection of our LORD around the country, I teach
on the reality and chronology of the Scripture and bring about the errors
out in the open. The church learns the true meaning of Passover, Good Friday
and Resurrection Day.
I would say
that 75% of the Church celebrates Good Friday or Shabbat on the regular
Gregorian calendar. I dare not call the gentiles who are justified by faith
in Messiah, ignorant and insult their faith in the ONLY ONE that has died
for them. How could I?
Who are we
to do that? We are just the messengers. The apostle Paul clearly teaches
on this very issue in Romans Chapter 14 where he boldly declares that.
. .
Him that
is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
For one
believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
Let not
him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth
not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
Who art
thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth
or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
One man
esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let
every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
(This
verse alone justifies the gentiles from celebrating Good Friday on a regular
Gregorian calendar)
He that regardeth
the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day,
to the Lord he doth not regard it.
He that
eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth
not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
For none
of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
For whether
we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord:
whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
For to this
end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both
of the dead and living.
Romans
14: 1-9 KJV
For though
I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I
might gain the more.
And unto
the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are
under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under
the law;
to them
that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but
under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
To the weak
became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all
men, that I might by all means save some.
And this
I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.
1
Corinthians 9: 19-23 KJV
Instead of
criticizing, condeming and judging others we need to be like the Apostle
Paul taught his disciples to be. We need to be imitators of the Apostle
him therefore we edify and teach the church the Hebrew texts and Scriptures
as they should ought to be understood.
Can you imagine
if we went around condemning every single person for not knowing like you
did with me? Our job is to teach and edify, but not to belittle and criticize
others for not knowing truth.
Hashem has
placed an awesome burden in my heart to teach. Not every one is cut out
for this type of work. Evidence of this is the way some religious people
within the church, and by that I mean both gentiles and Messianic Jews,
who you approached others with insults and condemnation when they do not
agree on the teachings.
When the LOVE
of Messiah is in our hearts, our desire is to teach, edify and built the
church. Not to tear it down, criticize and point the finger at others to
the point that we destroy them.
It does not
matter whether they are gentiles of Jews. One cannot be prejudice. This
type of behavior must be stopped within the Body of Messiah.
Remember that
at one time we were ALL on our way to hell. I am sure that at one time
some of you reading this article did not have Messiah in your lives.
My question
to you is. . . . .
Do you have
Him now?
I will be celebrating
our Passover this year and good Friday LIVE on the internet from our studios
in New York.
I will be teaching
in detail and explaining the wonders of Passover and Resurrection Sunday
and how that Jesus Christ ( Yeshua ) did not die on our regular Gregorian
calendar Good Friday, but on Wednesday the actual Jewish High Sabbath.
In My Own Words,
