Take
your God given Authority which is your responsibility and speak directly
to Satan the devil yourself and stand your ground firmly. He will flee!
God will back
you up. He has given you the name that is above all names, He has given
you the name of Jesus.
What
are you waiting for?
IN MY
OWN WORDS,
EDMUND
DESOTO
I
want
to examine together with you God's Word concerning the believer's authority
and the position that we the body of Christ have been given in Him.
As new creations
through His wonderful Holy Spirit, we have been placed in a position of
power and authority by the sacrificial death of our Master.
This is a position
delegated to us by God through His Son Jesus Christ. This position comes
with great responsibilities and power, but power designed to glorify our
God and His kingdom.
Colossians
1:13 says that you were delivered from the power of darkness
when you made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life. One of the literal translations
of
the word power is authority. The word power used here in
the Greek has five meaning and one of them is Authority or Kingly power.
"who
hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into
the kingdom of his dear Son:."
Colossians
1:13 KJV
We, by the power
of His blood, or by the Authority of His Blood, have been delivered from
the authority or power of darkness and have been placed into God's kingdom
and have been given His authority and power. Glory To God!
Our
Master Jesus said, "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Go ye therefore..."
Matthew
28:18,19 KJV
Our inheritance
comes along with this power that was given to us as part of what we have
inherited in Christ Jesus. We have entered into this position of authority
and power because we are in Him and He lives in us. The Word of God says
that righteousness has come upon all men.
"Yes,
Adam’s one sin brought condemnation upon everyone, but Christ’s one act
of righteousness makes all people right in God’s sight and gives them life."
Romans
5:18 KJV
A very simple
question that we can all ask ourselves is, "Why then don't all become
righteous?" But the answer is very simple.
Because in
order to receive this power that gives you the right to be righteous, we
need to act on righteousness from the point of the authority that
God has given us. And NOT from our own understanding. Does that
make sense to you?
At
the age of fifteen, in the month of November 1971, I used my human authority
without even realizing it and made a very important choice. A choice that
would affect my destiny for the rest of my entire earthly life. I made
the decision to receive Jesus as Lord of my life through a series of Billy
Graham programs on TV.
Second Corinthians
5:21 says,
"He hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin;
that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."
At that very
moment, the righteousness of God that had been upon me came inside of me.
My body became His temple and I was made the righteousness of God in Christ.
By dying a
horrible death on the cross, suffering the penalty for sin, and defeating
satan, Jesus Christ our Master succeeded in securing all power by willingly
placing Himself on that cross.
(COMING
ON CD AND DVD SOON The man On That Cross)
Jesus secured
our power and gave us an unsurpassed authority. He came to earth as a man
for one reason: to recapture the authority that satan had stolen through
Adam's disobedience in the garden of Eden and gave it back to His perfect
creation, man. Yes, He gave this authority back to you and me.
This is the
reason why the Spirit of God calls Jesus the last Adam. "The Scriptures
tell us, “The first man, Adam, became a living person.” But the last Adam—that
is, Christ—is a life-giving Spirit."
1
Corinthians 15:45 KJV
After securing
that power and authority, He freely gave it over into the hands of those
who would believe on Him.
If
you are a believer this is referring to you.
Yes, it is
referring to you and me.
We are not called
to simply accept Jesus' work that He did at Calvary. That is simply not
enough. We are held responsible, we are held accountable for much, much
more.
The Lord's
words in the 16th chapter of Mark were not intended for the early church
alone but for the church that would be catched away in the air at the sound
of His trumpet.
Today, His
Words are just as vital and real. Scripture declares that He is the same
yesterday, today and forever. These words carry the same power, the same
authority today as when they were first spoken by our Master two thousand
years ago.
