The
Importance Of Prayer
"Now when all the
people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized,
and praying, the heaven was opened, and the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily
shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou
art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased."
Luke 3:21-22
KJV
Prayer
will protect you and your loved ones against the wiles of your enemies.
It was prayer that protected Jesus from the plans of His enemies.
"And the Pharisees
were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might
do to Jesus."
Luke 6:11
KJV
On verse 12 Scripture declares
that "in those days, that He went out into a mountain to pray, and continued
all night in prayer to God."
The Lord Jesus knew that
only prayer would keep Him safe from all His enemies. Yes, it was prayer
in the life of our wonderful Lord that protected Him. Prayer guided all
the Lord's decisions. All His moves were guided by prayer.
It is prayer that protects
us and guides us. it is prayer that allows us to hear the Word of God with
clarity. It is prayer that helps us make the RIGHT decision in our lives
and enable us Him to know the will of God.
Not one decision was made
by the Lord without Him coming into the Presence of His Father in prayer.
This sets a great example for us to follow in our everyday lives. How sad
that many of God's people go on living their everyday life without asking
God for directions in prayer.
Decisions like the ones that
involve marriage, business, and our family members should be made under
the guidance of prayer. Yet many DO NOT seek the Lord while making such
critical decisions.
The Lord is our perfect example
for perfect guidance in our lives. Learn from Him. Let us learn from Him
that is making intercession for you and me by reading His Word daily.
Find time for Him, get on
your knees and ask Him to show you His perfect will for your life, let
Him give you guidance.
Don't just come to Him when
you are in trouble and need help, come to Him and worship Him for who He
is.
He is the King of
all kings and the Lord
of Lords.
